English is one of the subjets that changes immensely in LCA.  It changes for the better.  Instead of studying novels and and learning poetry off by heart we learn how to do proper C.Vs and we do interview skills.  We also learn how to fill in application forms properly.  We do thing that you wouldn't do in the normal Leaving Cert.

One of our key assignments for LCA English was to get a guest speaker into the class.  I organised Billy Mc Guinness, the guitarist from Aslan to come in and do an interview with us.  He used to go to this school.  He did a very good interview with us.  I learnt alot of very interesting information about his life and how he got into the band.
