The first year of our European Education Project has been a tremendous success. Teachers and students alike, in each of the four participating schools have been enriched by this cultural interchange.

The international meetings of the teachers involved have played a central role in the development of this project. Indeed these visits have given an added impetus to our work and proved vital in the planning of the various tasks and activities. Our hopes would be that these meetings would continue to be the focal point for organising the project over the next two years.

At this stage of the project we would like to take time to encourage our colleagues to avail of the various study and work grants which are part of this European Project. These unique opportunities to study or work in either Spain, Slovakia or Ireland would add great value to the project.

Finally, we hope that our students’ educational development will continue to be enhanced and enlivened through interaction with their peers in other European countries. We would hope that the exchange of ideas and the comparison of lifestyles would add a European dimension to their studies. Our hope would be that the students of the different schools would travel and exchange their ideas in person. We feel this would add greatly to a sense of a shared European identity.
